Founded by Maria Bueno, formerly a partner at Cheim & Read​ for fifteen years, Bueno & Co was established to continue the gallery's 25 year legacy of providing connoisseurship and expertise at the highest level to source artwork and facilitate acquisitions for collectors and institutions through its longtime established relationships with artists as well as various other sales channels. 

Bueno & Co is the exclusive representative of the Matthew Wong Foundation.

In addition, Bueno & Co has longtime expertise in private sourcing and placement of works of art on the secondary market. Artists include Jean-Michel Basquiat, Louise Bourgeois, Lynda Benglis, William Eggleston, Louise Fishman, Sam Gilliam, Ron Gorchov, Lee Kranser, Joan Mitchell, Alice Neel, Pat Steir, Sean Scully, Andy Warhol, and Matthew Wong as well as other historical and contemporary masters. 

Bueno & Co will be opening a showroom with a curatorially focused private sales exhibition schedule in New York City in 2024.
